Vietnam One Health Students Addressing Global Health Security Diseases from BRM OH Perspectives
VOHUN student teams, comprised of both veterinary and medical/public health students will develop and present cases on (Streptococcus Suis, Rabies, ASF). Invited guest speakers from Vietnam and the US institutions will share their expertise and perspective on the current outbreaks while SNL will provide Biorisk Management expertise related to the cases.
In 2019, Vietnam National One Health University Network (VOHUN) in collaboration with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), and the U.S. Department of Defense Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP), created a BRM One Health community of practice by bringing together close to 300 students across Vietnam to discuss One Health cases related to biorisk management. Remote engagement sessions featured a clinical and epidemiological case and a didactic lecture on a biorisk management.
VOHUN student teams, comprised of both veterinary and medical/public health students will develop and present cases on (Covid19, H5N6, ASF). Invited guest speakers from Vietnam government and the US institutions will share their expertise and perspective on the current outbreaks while SNL will provide Biorisk Management expertise related to the cases. Two African countries, from Democratic Republic of Congo and Libya will also provide One Health cases from the region.
